NAIROBI, Kenya
The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has revealed that two police officers played key roles in the fatal shooting of Dr. Victoria Mutiso.
Speaking during a press briefing, DCI Director Mohamed Amin described the alleged involvement of the officers as a “grave betrayal of the uniform and the public trust.”
He said investigators had established that one officer is suspected of carrying out the shooting while another allegedly supplied the firearm used in the crime
According to the DCI, Police Constable Elijah Kibellion Kimoi, attached to Karinde Police Post, has been arrested and is the prime suspect in the fatal shooting. Investigators say forensic evidence places him at the crime scene.

The DCI further alleges that Inspector Kenneth Kipkemboi Sang, the incharge of Nderi Police Post, acted as a link between the alleged financiers and the execution team. Investigators claim he supplied the murder weapon a Mini Jericho pistol.
Inspector Kipkemboi is currently being sought by authorities after reportedly going into hiding.
The DCI said investigations are ongoing as detectives pursue additional suspects believed to have been involved in planning and executing the killing. Authorities have appealed to anyone with information on Inspector Kenneth Kipkemboi Sang ‘s whereabouts to report to the nearest police station or contact investigators.
